The app is free to download. Early Access builds are not signed. Follow the steps for your platform. Your audit data stays on your computer.
Install on macOS
- Open the DMG file.
- Move XEO Agent to Applications.
- Open the app. If macOS shows a warning, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and select Open Anyway.
- If macOS says the app is damaged, open Terminal and run:
xattr -cr /Applications/xeoagent.app
Install on Windows
- Run the setup file.
- If SmartScreen shows a warning, select More info.
- Select Run anyway.
Unsigned Early Access builds.
These builds do not have a code-signing certificate yet. Your system can show a warning before the app starts. This is normal for this release. Signed builds will replace them.

What is XEO Agent?

What do SEO, AEO, and GEO mean?
SEO is search engine optimization. AEO is answer engine optimization. GEO is generative engine optimization. AEO and GEO help AI tools find, read, and cite your pages.
Is XEO Agent free?
Yes. You can audit one page at a time for free. A Pro subscription costs $7.99 a month and adds full site crawls.
Does XEO Agent run JavaScript?
No. The app reads the HTML that the server sends. It tells you when a page needs a check in a real browser.
Where does my data go?
Your audits stay on your computer in a local database. The app uses the network only to get the pages that you ask it to check.
Which computers can run XEO Agent?
You need macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon, or Windows 10 or later on a 64-bit PC.
macOS says the app is damaged. What do I do?
The app is not damaged. macOS shows this message for unsigned apps that come from the internet. Open Terminal and run: xattr -cr /Applications/xeoagent.app. Then open the app again.
Why is the app not signed?
Early Access builds do not have a code-signing certificate yet. Your system can show a warning. The warning is normal for this release.
